I love books by British authors - they are chock-full of fantastic words and phrases. Haley, I am expecting you to come back from your semesters in England using sentences just rife with these ingenious idioms.
I am currently reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and I've come across some great examples of what I'm talking about, including:
"a pronounced stoutness about the tum" (a potbelly)
"cajoleries" (persuasive comments)
and one of my favorites - a description of the fearsome, yet unintelligent monster "the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal - daft as a brush, but very, very ravenous."
