Odds And Ends

Or, The Day Before Kristen Gives Amazon.com The Old What For

Draw it, Kristen: I spent the weekend working on a portrait. It's going to be a wedding gift for my cousin and her husband-to-be. True blue procrastinator that I am, I've been putting off working on it for about two and a half months now. It has to be done by next weekend so I have time to get it all matted and framed up before I head out the following Wednesday for Iowa. But now I'm all motivated to work on it an whatnot. It works for me.

Sing it, Kristen: I've been singing with the worship band at my church for six weeks or so now. No solos or anything, mind you. (I've always said that I'm like Hillary Duff: (what the crap, I know. You'll see.) I can carry a tune, but no one in their right mind would ever give me a recording contract unless I were teeny and blond). So anyway, I just sing along and do a little bit o' that alto harmony that I love so much. I've really missed singing with a small group - that was one of my favorite things about kinship in 'Gusta. So, at church we've been working on a new song here and there for a few weeks and gave it a shot today. Go here and listen to A Better Way if you wanna hear the original.

Bring it, Kristen: In the past five or six years, I've bought untold numbers of books, movies, and CDs at nicely discounted prices from Amazon.com. Well, about a month ago I placed a larger-than-normal order - I was buying three presents plus a Guster CD and a NOVA documentary about Mt. Everest (because I'm just. that. cool.) for myself. About two weeks ago I started wondering where my order was. I checked the site only to see that they claimed it had been delivered on March 1st. It hadn't. I've made phone calls to both delivery carriers with no help from either of them. Tomorrow, we'll see if Amazon customer service will be helpful or if they will be minus one very good customer.

Hi-yah.

Sing it, Kristen: You know, I thought you'd be more like Avril.

Bring it, Kristen: I know what you mean. Amazon sent one of my orders WAY later than they should have. It made me very angry with them, but I still check them out. Luckily I didn't need to consult customer service. However, word of advice, eBay has crappy customer service. So if you buy through them and you get screwed over, expect to wait about two to three months for a refund.
That being said, Mt. Everest is totally cool!

i predict that they will be nice to you, yea though you will try to curse them out with angry eyes and pointy-toed shoes, and they will send you all new stuff that you won't have to pay for.

and it will arrive on thursday.

and, a pre-emptive boing FWIP!

T - Avril, Hillary, Lindsay, Ashley, what have you. Take your pick of over-rated, studio-only "starlets." And hearty "heck yes it is!" to the Everest thing.

B - HOW did you KNOW!? It's almost as if you somehow, I don't know, heard the story from me or something and then, like, pretended to predict what would happen and left that as a comment on my blog! Craziness! ...wait a minute...

And to be clear, I didn't TRY to curse them out. I was just READY to. Be prepared, I always say. I got that from the Lion King. And maybe the Boyscouts or something.

and, a retaliatory so's your face.
