Will Smith Was Right

Chi-town really DOES got it goin' on.
(wow, MAJOR high school flashback)

I was in Chicago last weekend starting my maid of honor duties by throwing Kathy a lingerie party (in lieu of a bachelorette party) and a bridal shower. It was a pretty awesome weekend with a bit of a rocky start.

I was supposed to fly into Chicago on Thursday--the tornadoes had other plans. My flight was cancelled, so I flew in on Friday afternoon. The lingerie party was Friday night - good times! There were five gals, three dogs, fun gifts, good food and great champagne.

Saturday was Kathy and Kristen's DAY OF FUN! Kathy took me downtown for my birthday. First, we went to the Chicago Art Institute and wandered around for a few hours. We went to Millennium Park and saw The Bean. Then we went to the original Pizzeria Uno and had aMAYzng pizza. And, of course, we missed our train back to the 'burbs by a few minutes, so Kathy's dad kindly came and picked us up.

Sunday was the big day. Kathy was suitably surprised by her yacht cruise bridal shower. :-) It was lots of fun - the ship left the dock at noon and sailed for a couple hours. They had live jazz music, a great brunch buffet, and they set up an area on the top observation deck where Kathy got to open her presents. Faaancy! Also, MOMENTOUS occasion here, people. I have hated hot dogs all my life. But, after Kathy raving about Chicago hot dogs for three years, I actually TRIED one. And you know what? I still hate hot dogs.
