Haboob!

And a really great run.

While Texas was getting thwacked by Hurricane Ike last week, the Phoenix-area was experiencing a Haboob. What's a Haboob, you ask? THIS is a Haboob:

Yikes! I was standing at the gas pump when I saw this puppy rolling in. I hunkered down behind my wee little Fit until the gas stopped pumping and then fought the wind and dust to get home.

Saturday morning I ran the scheduled 10 miles out at South Mountain. If you recall, I did this same run back in June, only it was 8 miles then and it just about killed me. Now, three months later, I took off running at about 6am, ran 5 very hilly miles in one direction, turned around and ran 5 very hilly miles back. I even chatted with one of the coaches for about 3 of those miles. I trotted back into the parking lot about 8am, stretched a bit, and headed on home. Awesome! AND, it was a GORGEOUS morning - mid-70's to start, with a bit of a breeze and the view was just beautiful. Here is a map of my run:

And finally, this. is. great. "..nnnoooOOOO MINE!!"

"I don't know what that is". SOOOO FUNNY! Tiny Fey is a genius.

I'm waiting for Pat to come up with something snarky/witty about the word 'haboob'. Whatcha got?

ALSO, Jo, who is Tiny Fey? Is that like Tina's little shoulder angel or something?

HA HA HA HA HA!!! Can you tell I wrote that BEFORE I had my coffee? Oh man, that's funny. Tina. Not Tiny.

What? You've never heard of Tiny Fey?

"Please stop calling me a Flurj, I looked it up on the internet and I do not like it."

So perfectly played!

I want to know the linguistic background of Haboob...
