Strange and Beautiful

The first post of 2006 and I'm only 14 days late! Excellent, excellent start to the new year. Yes indeed.

So Christmas break was great! I spent the first week in Atlanta hanging out with friends and doing some shopping the week before my friend Alissa's wedding. I got to see all the great people I met while I was in Amsterdam last April (we stayed with Alissa's now-husband while we were in Holland). We all went to an Atlanta Thrashers hockey game, the new Georgia Aquarium, a cool Moroccan restaurant called the Imperial Fez - just lots of good times in the city. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was very cool - they actually had Demis' uncle read one of the scriptures in Dutch.

Home was wonderful, as expected. It was so good to see my family again after being gone for so long. I can't believe how much I slept! For the first few days, every time I sat down, bam!, I'd fall asleep. It was lovely. Simply lovely. I did a lot of movie watching, reading, and hanging out with my parents and sister and friends and cousins. The perfect, relaxing break I was hoping for. The fact that it was freakishly warm for December/January in Nebraska didn't hurt either.

So now I'm back here in good ol' Augusta. I have to present my proposal for my Master's project next Friday. Oh my. Wish me luck!
