Currently Playing: Pedro the Lion

Control

Has anyone seen my motivation? I can't seem to find it. The last time I saw it was December 15th, the day before I turned in my comprehensive exams last semester. It made a quiet, stealthy escape the following day. Usually it would be difficult to actually see my motivation, but it may have taken on a physical shape after it left my being. Possible manifestations include a graduation cap and the letter A. If you find it, please contact me at once. My master's project is begging you.

Anyway... I went to Athens this week - twice, actually. Tuesday night we went to see Mike's band play and to celebrate Blake's birthday. As always, Athens provided us with mirthful good times. Luckily we didn't have class the next day, so pulling into town at 5am wasn't such a problem. I have no idea what Blake is doing in this picture, but it was the only normal-looking one of me, and this is MY blog, so I used it.

I went back to Athens on Friday. Kathy's dog Destiny is sick, the poor thing. She hasn't looked well in quite a while, so Alissa and I went along while Kathy took her to the vet school at the University of Georgia. Destiny has to stay for some tests, so hopefully they figure out what it is. After we left Destiny, we had lunch downtown and walked around a bit. Athens has this awesome downtown area where they have shops and restaurants and things - and it's right next to campus. It kills me that UGA and Iowa State are the exact same size, yet all Ames has to offer its students is a handful of restaurants within walking distance of campus. Long live Athens.
