AAAARRRRR!

My home internet is on the fritz, so I am pirating the neighbors' signal. Don’t tell!

My sister and I drove up to Los Angeles for Memorial Day weekend. We stayed with my cousin Josh up in Santa Clarita (north of the city a bit), and his sister (my other cousin) Sarah and her husband Josh (confusing, no?) flew in for the weekend as well. Fun!

Top 5 Things From L.A.

1. The Grove – an outdoor market area with lots of fun shops and eateries. After trekking to the top of the parking building to look at the lights of L.A., we wandered around a bit and then had a delicious Italian meal at one of the restaurants.
2. The Getty – a fantastic, FREE art museum. The place is huge and beautiful and the landscaping is just amazing. It is set high up on a hill and the only way to get there is via tram – you park in this giant below-ground parking structure and ride the tram to the museum. We saw some great exhibits and some so-so exhibits and enjoyed the afternoon.
3. Wicked – we saw the musical on Saturday night. Holy CRIPES that show is amazing! I’ve loved the soundtrack for years and I read the book awhile back, and everyone I know who has gone to see it has just raved about it. Now I know why. If you ever get the chance to see it, don’t hesitate.
4. Dodgers Game – we saw the Dodgers play the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. It was a great game (all tied up at the bottom of the 9th and the Dodgers went on to win it in the 10th). It was cool and breezy to start out with, but it warmed up by the end and I sunburned my nose.
5. Universal CityWalk – the nightclub scene at Universal Studios. They have all different kinds of places to choose from; salsa clubs to western bars to pretty much anything you can imagine. We went to the dueling piano bar and had lots of fun.

And I’m going to make that the short story.

Coming up:
Tornadoes.
TNT Group Run.
MSNBC.com and me.
