You were a real bitch this year.
September 2nd - I pull my hamstring at track practice. Not conducive to marathon training.
September 4th - My fancy laptop breaks, cutting me off from the world.
September 5th - My garage door breaks for the 5th time.
September 7th a.m. - My dad calls to tell me my Uncle Bob passed away that morning.
September 7th p.m. - Bea calls to tell me Conor passed away that morning.
September 9th p.m. - I fly to Denver, rent a car, drive to Fort Collins, pick up htd and we drive all night through the thickest fog I've ever experienced to get to Iowa for my uncle's funeral. We pull in at 7:30am on...
September 10th - Funeral at 10am, family time, drive back to Kearney and spend the night at my parents house.
September 11th - Leave at 6am to drive back to Fort Collins so htd can make it to class. Spend time in FoCo with friends and htd.
September 12th - Spend the morning in FoCo with htd. Drive back to Denver. Fly back to Phoenix. Arrive home to discover my air conditioner has broken while I was gone. The house is 92 degrees.
September 13th - Call home warranty company about a/c. They send the claim to a vendor.
September 14th - Still haven't heard from vendor. All attempts to contact them are fruitless. Turns out they're out of business. Warranty company assigns a new vendor. Garage door company stops by to diagnose problem - needs a new part.
September 15th - a/c guy arrives. Says I need a new contactor. They will install it tomorrow.
September 16th - Garage door company comes by to put in the new part. A/c guys come by and inspect more. Turns out I need a new thermoregulator and compressor. Will arrive in 3-5 days.
September 17th - I get a wicked summer cold.
September 19-20th - I run 14 miles while sick and swelter in my un-air-conditioned house throughout the weekend. Temperatures reach 106.
September 22nd - A/c guys come back to put in parts. Start it all up and the in/out fan motor immediately blows. New parts are going to take a week to arrive. My head officially explodes. I pay $90 to ship the part overnight. Of course it's too late for the parts to arrive the next day.
September 24th - 12 days after I discovered it broken, the a/c is finally fixed.
September 26th - I run 20 miles.
October 1st - My new laptop arrives. My interweb exile is ended.
So all this means something awesome should happen sometime soon, right?
Right?
