Currently Playing: Coldplay

A Rush of Blood to the Head

"God gave you style
and gave you grace,
God put a smile
upon your face."

Those lyrics made me smile tonight. It was a crappy, rainy day followed by an even more rainy night and I was heading towards one of those blue funks that are likely to hit when I'm driving around by myself in the rain at night. And then this song came on in my car. Don't you love it when all it takes is Coldplay lyrics to snap you out of your self-centered melancholy?

My first publication is now official - the check came in the mail today. If you happen to see a copy of Georgia Trend on the magazine stands next month, pick it up and look for an article on diabetes. The oh-so-fabulous kidney illustration that you won't be able to tear your gaze from? Yeah. That's mine. (at this point, imagine me breathing on my fingernails and polishing them smugly on my shirt...Haley, you can picture the gangsta nose-swipe, if you'd prefer).

Oh, Haley, one of my professors (Bill) saw the Valentines card you sent me hanging in my cubicle today. He used the word "bizarre" when commenting on it. I told him the word he was looking for was "AWESOME." I heart Edward Monkton.

Random crap:
-I've discovered that the hospital cafeteria makes a mean veggie burger.
-I saw a child on a leash at the mall today. Harness and everything.
-Over the past year, I have taken nearly 1600 pictures with my digital camera.
-In the shuffle between computers after my brand new Mac G5 crashed last fall, I somehow lost all my digital art files from summer semester (better known as the SUMMER FROM HELL). Discovered that on Monday. Fun.
-"to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:3 We studied that verse at kinship on Monday. I like it.

No mas.
