I am going to tell you about my weekend. I realize I am a few days late on doing this, but see this --> eh. That was me not caring.
Friday night a bunch of friends from church and I drove up to Glendale (northwestern suburb of PHX) to go to Glendale Glitters. I know. Sounds like a strip club, right? It's not. I made sure before I headed up there during rush hour traffic. It's actually a big street fair sort of thing. The downtown historic district area is all decked out in Christmas lights (hence the "glitters"...ohhhhhh) and they have booths and things set up in the park, and carriage rides behind clydesdale horses, and they were showing White Christmas on the big outdoor movie screen and couples were dancing along with the music from the movie and it was just cold enough that you could see your breath. ~sigh~ Made me want to bust out a pair of Smittens, snag a passing fella, and watch that movie for awhile.Instead, we all went to this great German restaurant, Haus Murphy. I did my ancestors proud and had Jagerschnitzel, wirsing, and of course, a hefeweizen draft--I ordered the small and it turned out to be a liter o' beer. Prost!
Saturday night was our office Christmas party. Funding for office events has been cut, so in order to feed the 100 or so people that were going to show up at his house, Phil, our vice president, asked everyone to bring some sort of finger food. I had requests for cinnamon puffs (which I had brought to the office 4th of July party), so I spent all Saturday afternoon rolling and pinching and dipping and baking and drizzling. Jaime came over around 5-ish and made a boat load of chicken potstickers and then her husband Ted picked us up at about 6:15. We swung by Dawn's place and grabbed her and her mini-pecan pies and off we headed to Phil's place.Yeah. Turns out Saturday night was the big electric light parade, which just happens to run right downtown near where I live. Traffic was terrible. I figured that the plus side was, if we got caught in traffic for hours, at least we wouldn't go hungry. We ended up getting to Phil's a little late, but still had a great time. There was a chocolate fountain with strawberries that was pretty awesome.
And I got to wear my very favorite shoes. They normally feel a lot like a rabid dog gnawing on my feet, but I trimmed some super-padded insoles to fit them, so I wasn't even limping (much) by the time I got home. Score.

I WANT THEM
Your sh-n-n-n's could be louder.
LOVE the shoes:) I like the "it was just cold enough to see my breath"... How lovely that must be. The other day here, it was just cold enough that the snot in my nose would freeze when i stepped outside, and as I sat in class it would slowly thaw...making me the dreaded "sniffly person". I heart Nebraska.
xxxxx

b - Why thank you. I am rather fond of them myself.

faux b - um, "hey Pat. uy(icl, of course)." And they DID eat them...eventually...on Monday...when I brought 20 or so of them to work...effing out-of-the-way-table...
