Danny Tripp Rocks The Casbah.

I'm just saying.

So my current journal turned 1 yesterday. I know, I know, I have a blog - why do I need a journal? Trust me, people - they are very different things. Journal entries would ne-heh-HEHver find their way to blogger.

So far the new journal documents one of the most change-filled years of my life. I went from grad student in Georgia to working stooge in Arizona. An important person or two found their way into my life. Faith on a deeper level. Had to move away from two of my best friends. Did lots of traveling. Moved to a new city by myself (for the third time). Lost a grandmother. It's been quite the year, I tell you.

Anyway, I don't write in the journal all that often - maybe a couple times a month or so. More if there's an excessive buildup of the crazies in a given month. It helps me keep life in perspective when I can go back and read over the past few months or so. My first journal I wrote in for seven years. Then I ran out of pages. That's a year and a half of high school, all of college and the first year and a half of grad school. It's fun to go back in that journal and read some of the oldest entries...holy lord was I ever melodramatic. I used lots of underlining and CAPITAL LETTERS.

lol - pat's funny. so are you. LOVE this post. I read through Claire and my notes from highschool when I cleaned my closet at Christmas . . . we were . . . uh . . . interesting people. SOOOO meloDRAMAtic. See what I did there? Capitalization? Elongating stressed words? emphasizing the important parts of words? oh lordy . . .
