I wonder...

if they have Guinness Stations instead of water stations?

if they hand out four leaf clovers (or better yet - pots of gold) instead of medals?

if Glen Hansard will show up to sing beautiful songs to me? (fingers crossed)

if the entertainment stations will include U2 and/or Riverdance?

So... some news! I applied a few weeks ago and was just chosen to be a Team in Training Team Captain for the summer/fall season. For what event, you ask? Oh. For the adidas Dublin Marathon.

Iiiii know!

I'll act as kind of a mentor for 5-10 of the new TNT marathon participants. I'll offer encouragement and support, provide fundraising ideas and organize group activities, and try to build camaraderie within my group. Oh yeah, and train for the Dublin marathon. :) I'm so excited!

But, first things first: gotta get this triathlon tackled.

TAKE ME WITH YOU

You're supposed to get *me* a present on my birthday, not *you*!

That's cool, Kristen! It's been so inspiring to watch this journey you've taken. Did you ever think it would involve inspiring others to run a marathon in Dublin?

In summary: you rock.

How fun! I totally want to do something like this! Maybe I will once I'm in Chapel Hill.

Rock it, Kristen, and trailblaze like no other!

B - COME WITH ME
W - Did I not mention? I actually chose this marathon so I could buy you a REAL pint of Guinness for your birthday. Of course, I'll have to drink it for you since you probably won't be there, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice. That's just the kind of friend I am. And no, never in a million years did I think I'd get hooked on endurance sports. Crazy.
J - I know, right?! Even the marathon might be fun, what with the Irish spectators and everything. Gotta love the accents!
P - "thanks" :) "I say always keep them running. All the time, running."
T - You should look into it! It's such a great cause and it's so much fun! They offer training for marathon, triathlon, century ride (100 mile bike ride), and hike. And thanks, I will attempt to rock it! :D
