So here I am in my cubicle (or, in Anne of Green Gables speak - my "Gray Box of Delight." For those of you who have never seen the Anne of Green Gables movie, just smile politely and read on) after a hard mornings work in the cadaver lab. Oh the joy. For those of you who are curious - and I'm certain all of you are - we opened the cranial cavity, removed the brain, and studied the cranial nerves. Bone saws and a chisel and rubber mallet were involved in the process. It was not pretty. It did not smell good. However, the brain is one amazing structure and seeing firsthand how it's connected to the rest of the body is quite the privilege. There, I'm done with any and all cadaver-related issues for at least a couple weeks - I promise.
I went to Charleston, SC this past weekend with Alissa and Kathy. It is such a cool city! There are all these great old houses, cool little shops, and it's right on the ocean - what more could you ask for? We ate supper at BubbaGump Shrimp (yes, as in Forrest Gump) and then went to a Jump Little Children concert (or Jump, as they're also known) It was GREAT!!! For all you back home I highly recommend looking them up - they have an awesome eclectic kind of sound. The concert got out at 1:30am, and yes, we drove home. We had to stop at the Waffle House for a pick-me-up at about 3:00. It's a wonder how much coffee and a waffle will wake you up. We rolled into Augusta at 5:00am...I must be getting old, because I haven't been up that late in, oh, two years.
Well, I suppose I've put off my real work long enough. Time to go draw my pubic bone! Well, not MY pubic bone...just A pubic bone...you know how it is...
