Fact: Georgia gets ice storms.
Fact: Georgia residents do not know how to drive on ice.
Fact: Georgia residents drive anyway.
These were the three lessons I learned this weekend. It rained all day Saturday and, with temperatures of about 32 degrees, formed a thick sheet of ice over everything. While it was beautiful on the trees and the pink blossoms outside my front door (yes, there are flowers blooming right outside my front door. And yes, it is January.), it made for treacherous driving conditions. So I chose to stay inside and get things done instead of attempting to perambulate with the crazies (the crazies being the Georgia drivers).
I also decided to prolong my stint as a Martha Stewart facsimile by making myself some curtains this weekend. I have a very large window in my bedroom and it has always seemed a little bare. So, using sheets and nails, I managed to fashion myself some rather attractive curtains. Whether my landlord will appreciate the nail holes above my window is another story, but I am relying on the fact that the nail holes are very high up and my landlord is what I would call a "wee little man" (not named Zaccheus, unfortunately). Here's hoping that they are too high up for him to notice.
