My Cactus Be Illin'

and not in a good way.

I blogged awhile ago about the odd affliction that had befallen my poor little Ikea cactus. Apparently, after a valiant struggle, it has succumbed to it's ailments. I looked at it today and discovered that the container that once held my proud little cacti has been reduced to a veritable minefield littered with severed cactus parts and shattered dreams. The thing just fell apart.

You will note that the yet-to-be-identified sprouts have grown considerably over the last 2 1/2 months - evidence to the fact that I did water it occasionally.

Conclusions (take your pick):
1. This particular species of desert flora requires something other than water, special cactus potting soil, air, and sunlight.
2. My fascination with and subsequent refusal to remove the clearly aberrant growths contributed to it's untimely death.
3. I didn't love it enough.

A green thumb I have not.
